Role Summary :

Japan’s tourism economy is built on its world-class transportation infrastructure, with 80% of domestic travel powered by the railway network. As the leading OTA in the mobility space, Klook is the de facto strategic partner for Japan’s major transportation operators, thus uniquely positioned among global OTAs landscape. We don't just sell tickets; we provide the digital backbone for the nation's core travel arteries.

In this role, you will lead the management and nurturing of high-impact strategic accounts across the mobility spectrum—including major regional railways, essential airport links, and nationwide bus networks. Beyond managing core volume, you will play a pivotal role in a national-scale mission: dispersing tourism traffic to Japan’s secondary cities. This objective aligns directly with major Japanese government initiatives, and as the lead for these partnerships, you will be the key architect making this vision a reality.

What You’ll Do

  • Strategic Account Management & Nurturing: Own and elevate relationships with large-scale railway partners. Act as a strategic advisor to "nurture" these accounts to our mutual advantage, ensuring Klook is positioned as their preferred and most trusted digital distribution channel.

  • Partner DX Consultancy: Lead the shift from traditional sales models to a global, digital-first strategy for your designated partners. Modernize how these essential infrastructure providers engage with international audiences through Klook’s technology.

  • Traffic Optimization & Regional Growth: As a result of successful account nurturing, develop "Rail + Activity" bundles that pull travelers into secondary cities. Directly contribute to national regional revitalization goals by making regional rail travel more accessible and attractive.

  • Market Insight & Vertical Ownership: Represent Klook as a high-level consultancy partner by gathering deep industry insights. Monitor trends in the mobility sector to ensure Klook remains ahead of market shifts and competitor movements.

  • Internal Collaboration & Mentorship: Work with global teams (Strategic Planning, Marketing, Finance, Legal) to maximize sales efficiency. Serve as a mentor to early-tenure professionals, sharing strategic know-how and bridging the gap between local industry nuance and Klook’s high-performance global standards.

What You’ll Need

  • Professional Expertise: At least 5–8+ years of hands-on experience in business development, account management, or strategic sales, ideally within the OTA, Travel Tech, or Aviation/Mobility sectors.

  • Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Strong commercial acumen with the ability to use data to build a business case. You are comfortable navigating complex, traditional industries to find innovative digital solutions.

  • Bilingual Communication: Native-level Japanese and Business-level English. You must be able to influence senior stakeholders locally (部長/課長 level) while communicating effectively with global leadership.

  • Startup Spirit: An entrepreneurial, proactive approach. You are comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment and are excited by the challenge of shaping a lagging industry.

  • Global Perspective: A collaborative personality with a global mindset, capable of working seamlessly across diverse cultural backgrounds and time zones.

Klook is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We hire talented and passionate people of all backgrounds. We believe that a joyful workplace is an inclusive workplace, one where employees from all walks of life have an equal opportunity to thrive. We’re dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive culture where everyone belongs.
