Raised and educated in Hong Kong and the UK, Vincent has been fortunate to spend his entire career working on international projects and collaborating with people from diverse cultures.
Before joining Klook, he worked at a global hotel chain where empathy was the core value. It was there that he first learned about the importance of practicing empathy, not just with customers but also with colleagues and the communities we serve. This experience profoundly influenced him, shaping his career and identity as a global citizen.
How do the Legal and Sustainability teams bring the world closer together through experiences?
To bring the world closer through experiences, one of the key things the Legal and Sustainability teams do is to ensure that we are a trusted platform for our customers. The legal team manages and mitigates risks to ensure our customers and the partners we work with have a positive experience with us, while the Sustainability team is working towards building more sustainable practices that ensure we leave a world behind for future generations to experience.

How has traveling impacted the way you view the world as a global citizen?
I spent 3 weeks in Peru while on a break, switching from my investment banking job to a travel company. From city life in Lima to jungle life in the Amazon, from miles of arid deserts to forests that safeguarded the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu for centuries, Peru has so much to offer.
One thing that left a strong impression on me was how travel can be a force for good. We experienced firsthand how well-managed natural or man-made assets have helped to empower local communities, bringing about not just infrastructure but also jobs and economic impact. This is one of the focuses of our Sustainability team - harnessing the power of travel to do good for the communities.

What’s your advice for those looking to diversify their experiences - whether travel or career - to become better global citizens?
Global citizenship isn't just about how much one has seen, but rather, how much one understands. How do we develop a better understanding of different cultures? The practice of empathy is key. Looking through an empathetic lens helps us to understand why people behave the way they do, and enrich and diversify our own experience of the world.
