Kayle Wong, Associate Manager, Motion Graphics from Singapore revisited Taiwan for the first time after 5 years. During her trip, she didn't forget to visit her colleagues in our Taipei office!

"Having wrapped a filming project with our Taiwan team last year, I took it as a sign from the universe to visit the place again. With Klook's workcation subsidy, I booked the Taiwan High Speed Rail ticket that got me from Taipei to Tainan in a heartbeat. It saved me time for even more exploring and shopping!

I always believe the best way to learn about a culture is by interacting with the locals. I went on an urban adventure visiting cafes, taverns, and thrift shops. My most memorable night in Tainan was watching a World Cup match with a group of strangers in a speakeasy bar! This experience left a strong impression on me since I don't usually watch football games back home.

Thanks to our Workcation initiative, I had a glimpse of the locals' lifestyle, made new connections, and even built meaningful relationships with fellow Klookers."

We are so glad to have enabled Maki Santos, Associate Manager of Marketing from Manila, to work out of Tokyo while visiting the vibrant city! While on her workcation, she visited the Fuji-Q Highland for their rollercoaster rides and tried the Sake-All-You-Can experience in Akihabara.

"I first visited Japan 8 years ago as an exchange student and was fortunate to travel around the country on my savings. Since we have a Klook office in Tokyo, I signed up for Klook Workcation so I could meet up with my old classmates. We had fun reminiscing about our university times while touring our campus.

One key difference in my travel experience this time is that I could now indulge in quality food with comfort and ease, instead of having to skimp on food - convenience store food used to be my go-to back then - to feed my passion for travel. This workcation helped me realize how much I've grown."

Our Brand Marketing Associate (and animal enthusiast) Sindoori ticked off her bucket list item of getting up close and personal with animals in the Land Down Under. Here's a throwback to her 2-week Workcation in Perth and Sydney:

"My most memorable moment was my ‘work from farm’ day. I alternated between working and playing with cute animals at a farm in Perth. Taking a selfie with the quokkas is a must-do when visiting Rottnest Island in Perth, so I seized the chance while I was there! During my stint in Sydney, I visited its Opera House and Bondi Beach, rode the hop-on hop-off bus in the Blue Mountains, and my most favorite of all, experienced whale-watching off Sydney's beautiful shores.

Thankfully, some of these were covered by Klook's Workcation subsidy! Although we’re no strangers to remote work after the COVID-19 pandemic, it was amazing to work in a new environment and meet my friendly ANZ colleagues along the way. A huge shoutout to #TeamANZ for their fantastic cafe recommendations!"

Mila Logan, Senior Associate, HRIS & Reporting from our Malaysia office went on a workcation to visit her colleagues in Singapore, and here's her account:

"Although it wasn't my first time in the island country, I was amazed by its efficient transportation system. I had no trouble getting to places, so traveling around Singapore was a breeze. One thing that left an impression on me was a sign that said 'No talking' on public transport. This rule was introduced during the pandemic to prevent the spread of droplets, and passengers really abided by the rule.

Aside from working with my colleagues in the office (a massive thanks to my teammates who organized a lovely surprise celebration for me), I hung out with them at the beach in Sentosa and Universal Studios. Using the Workcation subsidy, I bought tickets on the Klook app to catch the mesmerizing Wings of Time show. My photos don't do it justice, but I absolutely recommend the show to those enthusiastic about the arts and visual experiences."
