We've officially stepped into the Year of the Dragon! Lunar New Year was buzzing with roaring excitement as many of our Klook offices ushered in the festive season with pomp and splendor (in Klook's way, of course!).

Offices that celebrated the merry occasion shared a similar tradition: each Klooker received a red envelope as a token of appreciation and symbolization of best wishes.

That aside, there was a tradition or a fun activity of their own to spice up their party. Join us as we take a stroll down memory lane!

Ho Chi Minh: Cherishing traditions with áo dài and lô tô (Vietnamese lotto game)

Chúc mừng năm mới! That's Happy Lunar New Year in Vietnamese. Some of our folks came dressed in áo dài, a traditional attire typically worn during Tet.

Upon receiving their red packets from their General Manager Hoang Nguyen, the team huddled around to play a bingo game called lô tô, a folk game popular among residents in the South of Vietnam. This bustling affair brought back childhood memories spent with their families as they took time to unwind from work on a Friday afternoon.

Hong Kong: Embracing the craft of Japanese seasonal delights

Wagashi, a traditional Japanese confection often served with green tea, took center stage for our Hong Kong team! Crafting these sweets symbolizes the changing of a season, and this workshop was the perfect way to herald in the Lunar New Year.

The team packaged these delightful Japanese treats in beautiful boxes to be shared as cherished gifts with loved ones. What better way to spread joy than by sharing these tantalizing treats with others, right?

Kuala Lumpur: A zesty quest around the office

Imagine running around the office, hunting for hidden tangerines, then passing them back to your teammates to peel and consume them respectively. Do you think you could crush this challenge? This was how the Tangerine Triumph game went down for our Kuala Lumpur colleagues.

Participating teams wasted no time in 'tackling' as many tangerines as possible to win the top 3 places. One thing's for sure: with this challenge, they met their vitamin C intake for the week!

Shenzhen: Majestic lion dance and red packets from Klook co-founders

The lion dance troupe brought their vibrant energy and roaring moves to our Shenzhen office for an unforgettable visit!

Wrapping up their lively performance, our co-founders Ethan, Eric, and Bernie dotted the lions' eyes with a brush to 'bring them to life'.

As the ceremony drew to a close, this dynamic trio made their way around the office, spreading festive cheer by handing out red envelopes to all Klookers.

Singapore: Zodiac group trivia and prosperity toss

Picture this: you're challenged to mimic the sound of a Chinese zodiac creature before answering a trivia question. Which team(s) do you think would have a hard time making the sound of their assigned zodiac animals?

While the rat, ox, and tiger finished their race first (well, at least according to the story of 'The Great Race'), it's a different case in the Klookiverse. The 'racers' that rose to the top in their group trivia were dragon, monkey and pig! This got us wondering about the sounds they made...

Of course, there was also the indispensable Lou Hei session ('prosperity toss' in Cantonese), during which Klookers tossed salad ingredients into the air while saying auspicious phrases to welcome abundance and great fortune.

Taipei: Savoring dragon cupcakes and mastering calligraphy

Cupcakes in the shape of a baby dragon? Sign us up! Those were the sweet treats Taipei team got to take a bite of after receiving their red packets.

Symbolizing joy and luck, calligraphy was also a part of their agenda. They exercised their deft hands in the art of calligraphy, making each brushstroke count while crafting wishes for themselves.

IT Specialist Banny Huang, pictured in the middle, tried his hand at writing a challenging character that symbolizes 'ushering in wealth and prosperity'. He joked, "Stroke by stroke, I managed to nail a complex character. Never knew there was a closet calligraphist in me! New year, new hope, new me, right?"

Come experience joy all year round with us in the Klookiverse!
