About the role

Klook is building a next generation travel activities and services booking platform.  Our team has traveled some distance - growing to over 1,000 people across some 20 locations worldwide.  We move fast and experiment continuously, having a learning culture as a strategic asset.  In order to continue growing and innovating we need to ensure employees develop as fast as possible.

We are looking for an expert in building capabilities.  This role will be based in our Kuala Lumpur office.  You will join our Organisation and Talent Management team, which covers organisation design, learning and development, talent assessment, rewards, and mobility.  The role has a global reach, ensuring the best possible development of all our people, without taking ownership for development away from employees and their managers.  

We strongly believe that learning requires application and as such focus on in-house efforts, co-creating content, co-facilitating, teaching others to teach and coach, and sharing.

What you’ll do

The objective of this new role is expanding and improving our capability building.  Firstly, we stimulate fast development and unlimited careers, which requires that we effectively support the development of core skills across all of our offices.  Secondly, we develop many new methodologies, because we are charting new territories in the travel industry.  It is important that we rapidly share best practices and continually evolve employee skills.  This role allows for unbridled curiosity towards the functioning of the organization and how we can continuously improve.

We need to turn insights into shareable learning and ensure delivery together with local managers and HRBPs.   You will, among others:

  • Based on Business and People strategy, assess and prioritize learning needs to meet short-term and long-term goals, and refine our competency framework

  • Design and develop learning programs and content

  • Ensure learning from application by employing innovative scalable capability building methods that go beyond the classroom, including self-directed learning, technology-based learning, learning on the job, mobile learning, testing, monitoring, etc.  A lot of communication will be required

  • Teach facilitators and co-facilitate with managers and HRBPs

  • Collaborate with HRBPs and the rest of the People&Culture team as we change and improve several people management practices

  • Design and facilitate initiatives to build continuous behavior changes, and as a result to build the culture of Klook 

What you’ll need

  • Experience that can contribute to success in the role includes business and strategic consulting, facilitation, coaching

  • Consulting and managing change is a pro.  Internet/E-commerce/OTA Industry business experience is too

  • Undergraduate degree from a top university expected; advanced degrees welcome.  It is critically important to be smart, self-motivated, curious, collaborative, globally minded, energetic, hands-on, and adaptive.  Flexibility and a sense of humor are a must

  • Able to ask smart questions to help our business managers be strategic. You are also solution driven, open to test out ideas that have not been validated before, quickly learn from the result and adapt

  • Fluent in English and Mandarin (Traditional and/or Simplified)
