About this role

Reporting to the General Manager, Japan who is based in Tokyo, Japan. This role is mainly responsible to build mutually beneficial relationships with external partners and merchants and strive to achieve business goals with innovative approaches. Ideal candidate is one who is entrepreneurial, analytical, commercially astute, as well as strong at account management and project management.

This position will mainly take care of major Car Rental companies in Japan to make excellent selections for our customers ready. Need to work with merchants on the ground to find new experiences for our users, negotiate exclusive deals and unleash our merchant partner’s full potential through account management. 

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain a high-quality portfolio of car rental for Klook’s rapidly growing, local/global customer base.

  • Acquisition: Acquire suppliers and bring them onboard the Klook platform.

  • Account management: Cultivate relationships with partners to help maximize their sales potential via Klook. Communicate Klook’s business strengths and brand value to suppliers.

  • Optimization: Continuously ensure the quality of products, in terms of pricing, inventory, content, and booking flow, maintain a market-leading position at all times.

  • Coordination: Work closely with various functions in the company - Marketing to maximize traffic and sales, eComm Ops to improve efficiency, Customer Services to drive satisfaction and repeats, Finance to ensure accurate payment and minimize risk, Product & Tech to build up innovative and user-friendly technologies. Flexibility and attentiveness to details are essential in our fast-paced environment.

  • Market updates: Support market leaders to identify market trends and provide market & competitor updates through on-going research and feedback.

  • Leadership: Support market leaders to guide the team and deliver tangible results in each of the above areas.

What you’ll need

  • 7+ years of work experience with business development / account management / sales experience. Experience with eCommerce industry or car rental industry will be appreciated

  • Strong commercial sense, as well as analytical, written, and verbal communications skills

  • Confident, self-motivated and result-oriented

  • Fluent written and spoken in Japanese and English. Mandarin will be a big plus.

  • Globally-minded and comfortable working with people from different cultural backgrounds

  • A start-up attitude – highly collaborative with an entrepreneurial, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude that’s not afraid to work independently when required.
