About this role
This position aims to establish strong partnerships with major car rental companies and franchisees in Japan, delivering convenient rental car experiences to Klook users. We are seeking a business development professional with expertise in the travel / car rental industry to help build mutually beneficial relationships.
With Japan’s tourism market rapidly recovering, especially from international travelers, rental cars have become an essential part of the travel experience. In regions, where public transportation is limited and sightseeing spots are widely spread, travelers increasingly rely on rental cars for flexibility and convenience.As a result, both major national brands and local car rental merchants are placing greater focus on inbound travelers, and expectations for Klook as a strategic partner are higher than ever.
This is a pivotal moment for Klook: by expanding and optimizing our car rental offerings, we can provide a one-stop solution for travelers, combining transportation with activities and experiences. What you'll do
Expand Car Rental Supply: Grow Klook’s car rental offerings to meet the needs of our rapidly expanding domestic and international user base.
Account Management: Build and nurture relationships with partners to maximize sales potential through Klook, while effectively communicating Klook’s business strengths and brand value to suppliers.
Deal Acquisition: Propose Klook unique initiative to our merchants and earn commitment to prioritize Klook as a selling channel.
Product Optimization: Enhance the quality of our offerings by optimizing pricing, inventory, content, and booking flow, ensuring we maintain a market-leading position.
Internal Collaboration: Work closely with various internal teams across the world (marketing, customer service, finance, and technology) to drive traffic and revenue.
Operational Support: Work in an operations-heavy industry where, beyond sales promotion, you also support and optimize partner operations, including occasionally getting hands-on with tasks.
What you’ll need
5+ years of hands-on experience in business development, account management, or sales.
Fluency in both Japanese and English.
Flexibility to go on domestic business trips when necessary (around 10%)
