The Insurance team is a relatively new team within Klook that manages our insurance products offered to customers across the region. Having created a joint venture (JV) with ZA Tech, we are in an exciting phase of growing the insurance business and team exponentially. 

What you will do:​

• Provide Technology input/solutions to the R&D lead to assist strategic decision making

• Build, and manage Klook Insurance Technology Team; and ensure a smooth transition from the JV partner

• Work with the team to study, and implement high concurrency, high availability systems, microservice architectures, and caching systems

• Responsible for R&D process optimization, training, and technology sharing within the team

• Work closely with Product Managers to ensure delivery of high-quality products and workflows, proactively drive solutions to solve problems

• Manage team’s execution + delivery, including troubleshooting

• People team management e.g. performance management, development, etc.​

What you will need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related majors, with 8 years or more of work experience, including 2 years of team management experience

• Proficiency in Java language, and having relevant large-scale Internet project, and server development experience are preferred

• Strong programming ability, familiar with algorithms, data structures, and distributed system

• Familiar with system architecture design, storage, cache, message queue, API design concept, etc.

• Experience in Linux operating system optimization and SQL database optimization is preferred

• Having good team spirit and being able to collaborate with Product and Testing Teams

• Passionate about technology, willing to challenge technical and business logic problems

• Embraces challenges and uncertainty - you will be a member of a team that aims to trailblaze and push boundaries in the highly regulated insurance industry.

• Comfortable working with people from different cultural backgrounds.

• A champion of the team's key values - collaborative and open to feedback, experimentative and ready to fail, customer-focused and always asking what is best for the customer.

• Proficiency in English and Mandarin due to the need to work with teams in China.
