What will you do:

  • Objective is to build up and strengthen partnership with various DMOs (Destination Marketing Organizations e.g. tourism boards) in Japan (and Korea) to drive Klook's growth. 

  • Core duties include all steps in the selling cycle:

    • Identify leads and establish contact

    • Build rapport and understand what partners want to achieve

    • Research about partners and prepare for pitching materials

    • Pitch in person or through emails/ calls

    • Handle objections and close the deal

    • Work with internal teams to ensure high quality execution of partnership programs

    • Results reporting for partners  

  • Market intelligence: From different sources of information, keep track of anything that may affect our partners and quickly identify opportunities or threat. 

  • Networking: Join various business events to build up your own network of people who may help you in your job. 

  • Influence internal teams to support our partnership effort. Collaborate with internal teams to make sure partnership programs are beneficial to them and are carried out in the most efficient way. 

  • Internal management: Support the development and maintenance of a high-quality portfolio of attraction, tour, transportation and activity (Things To Do) products for Klook’s rapidly growing, global customer base.

  • Negotiation: Negotiate with partners to maximize Klook's interests while maintaining a strong relationship with partners. 

  • Thought leadership: Develop a strong understanding of the industry and an independent view of key issues concerning our partners. Be able to educate and influence them. Build up their trust in our professionalism. 

  • Public speaking: Speak at various events on behalf of Klook. 

What is required from you:

  • >5 years work experience, preferably with 2 years in selling, account management, and business development. 

  • Experience in travel industry, especially in DMOs and OTAs are highly preferred. 

  • Must be fluent in Cantonese, English and Mandarin.  

  • Strong communicator in both written and verbal form (in meetings and on stage). 

  • Mature and able to carry business conversation with senior management on the partner side. 

  • Confident, self-motivated and goal-oriented

  • Global-minded and comfortable working with people from different cultural backgrounds

  • A start-up attitude – highly collaborative with an entrepreneurial, roll-up-your sleeves attitude and not afraid to work independently when required

  • Willing to travel when possible (10-20%)
